Sakhalin Energy Is Among Best Russian Employers

HeadHunter Group of Companies has published the 2023 Russia’s Best Employer Rating. The Sakhalin-2 operator ranked second among major enterprises in the Energy, Mining, and Processing category, and entered the top-10 oil & gas companies in Russia.

According to the organisers, in 2023, the competition among the participants of the rating heightened significantly, with the hh.ru final list of the best employers having grown by more than 38% over the year.

A company's position in the rating is determined by the final score, which is calculated based on the results of three rounds. Round one, completing an HR questionnaire, allows to assess the efficiency a company's HR processes, its development level, and compare it against its rivals across the industry. Round two requires the participants to arrange an online survey among the staff. The survey helps to determine what the staff think about their current employer, how loyal they are to it, and whether they are willing to recommend the company to their friends as a potential employer. Round three involves external respondents, job seekers from the hh.ru portal, providing their feedback on the employer's brand. It is particularly important that responses from a wide range of job seekers, from students to middle age people, are taken into account.

“As the fuel and energy sector develops in Russia, competition for the main resource, people, continues to heat up. Given that the rating is rising in popularity, with more and more participants joining it every year, the Company's final score every time confirms its status as an attractive and transparent employer. I am proud to say that we are not resting on our laurels. Thanks to our highly qualified employees, both those with experience and new recruits, we set trends in the labour market, securing the energy needs for the region and the entire country in a stable manner. This means that the corporate system of competence-based personnel training confirms its quality mark,” says Alexander Sheykin, HR Director of Sakhalin Energy.

The Company has participated in the ranking for the fourth consecutive year and has all along been among the leading companies in the fuel and energy sector, demonstrating steady performance. Analysis of the data collected during the competition allows Sakhalin Energy to evaluate the efficiency of its corporate HR strategy in real time and strengthen its position as an industry-wide competence centre for offshore field development and LNG production.
