Sakhalin Energy Wins Two Awards in Best Corporate Media 2020 Contest Held by Russian Association of Directors for Communications & Corporate Media (AKMR)
In the Effective Corporate Culture Promotion Tool category, the Company presented its Water Safety project. The topic is especially important to the island residents: the project focuses on children attending summer camps near bodies of water. At the initiative of Sakhalin Energy, eye-catching information signs have been placed on the grounds of four such summer camps to give kids the essential water safety tips. Trip-around-the-world style competitions have been staged there, featuring Senya, the main character of Safety Is Important!, a partnership program which incorporates the project. The darling of young Sakhaliners was solving picture puzzles together with schoolchildren, handing out leaflets and comic books which contained some useful advice and explanations as to why you shouldn't go for a swim near unequipped beaches. The events have attracted extensive coverage in regional and federal media outlets, and the Company’s know-how has proven to be in demand both on Sakhalin and in other regions of Russia. In 2019, the materials associated with the project were requested by, and handed over to, a not-for-profit organization in Arkhangelsk Oblast, and are currently being used in awareness campaigns.
Russia’s first three-dimensional publication about the oil and gas industry has become the winner in the Best Corporate Book category. It took a joint team of Company and publishing house specialists nearly three years to prepare the unique book dedicated to Sakhalin Energy’s 25th Anniversary. Hundreds of three-dimensional structures filling its pages were assembled by hand. They take readers on an exciting journey to the Sakhalin-2 production facilities. The book titled Energy for Growth by its creators have been distributed to all schools and libraries on Sakhalin.
The entries were judged by a jury of experts. In selecting winners, the publishing and corporate PR experts paid attention, first and foremost, to the successful outcomes of the presented projects. Recognition by the public, interactivity, social value, and other criteria were also taken into consideration.
