On 5 September, Sakhalin Energy, OOO PromSistemy and EthosEnergy Light Turbines Ltd. (EELT) signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding as part of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
This document envisages cooperation in local maintenance of gas turbine equipment under the contract between Sakhalin Energy and EthosEnergy Light Turbines Ltd. involving specialists of OOO PromSistemy.
“Sakhalin Energy aims to maximise engagement of domestic enterprises in the Sakhalin-2 project. Pooling of experience and cooperation with other companies in the area of import substitution are key components for accomplishing the set objectives,” noted Roman Dashkov, Sakhalin Energy Chief Executive Officer.
Such partnerships are all the more important in light of Sakhalin Energy’s new Russian Content development strategy, which entails encouraging the existing international contracting organisations to hire more Russian employees, as well as bringing foreign productions and services to Russia, and to the Sakhalin Oblast in particular.
"PromSistemy intends to widely participate in sharing experience and cooperation with western companies and seeks to become the basic services company for Sakhalin Energy in the area of rotating equipment," emphasised Grigory Trofimov, PromSistemy Executive Officer.
PromSistemy has already joined the Sakhalin Industrial Park, construction of which is developed by Sakhalin Energy. The company participates in the creation of the rotating equipment repair shop to be housed by the Park and designs its development strategy in conjunction with this project. Establishment of the Russia’s first sectoral cluster for the oil and gas industry is a colossal effort to support Russian manufacturers. The Park will not only help to enhance competencies of Russian specialists but will also give impetus to the development of regional infrastructure and commercial manufacturing on the island.
Ethos Energy Light Turbines Ltd. Regional Sales Manager Guy Osborne noted: “EELT has been a long-term partner with Sakhalin Energy and will continue to deliver quality solutions, safely and on-time. As part of the evolution of the EELT commitment EELT will aim to develop local content and skills base in order to effectively manage and advance the Ethos Energy Light Turbines Ltd. and Sakhalin Energy relationship”.
