Sakhalin Energy Emerged Victorious in the RUIE Competition among Russian Business Flagships

Award ceremony celebrating the winners of the Leaders of Russian Business. Dynamics, Responsibility, Sustainability 2018 completion of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE) recently took place in Moscow.

“One of the key objectives of the competition is not only to recognise champions of corporate responsibility but, first and foremost, to make their best practices replicable and demonstrate that impressive results in this area are achievable for most companies,” said Alexander Shokhin, President of the RUIE.

Sakhalin Energy won Grand Prix in not one but two nominations: Contribution to the Territories’ Social Development as well as Progress in Human Resources Development.

In his speech, Grigoriy Lekarev, RF Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, emphasised the importance of efforts in talent pool development, ensuring conditions for professional fulfilment of staff, and achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The Sakhalin Energy HR strategy provides for the establishment of an effective HR management system meeting the highest international standards, and enabling fulfilment of complex tasks, as well as rendering the company more efficient and competitive.

In its approach to advancing the host region, the company aims to support programmes and projects that develop the territory of Sakhalin Energy’s operation, encourages employees’ participation in corporate social programmes, and promotes charity and volunteer movement in the region.

Alexander Shokhin presented commemorative award to Sakhalin Energy's HR Director Alexander Sheykin.

In previous years, Sakhalin Energy repeatedly won prizes in special categories. In 2018, the company won Grand Prix of the competition; in 2016 it became the leader in the Environmentally Responsible Business category, and a year earlier—in the main category For High Social Responsibility.

Other winners of this year’s contest include such companies as Russian Railways, SIBUR Holding, LUKOIL, Gazprom Neft, Rostelecom, Nornickel, Severstal, and others.
