Sakhalin Energy Joined the #GivingTuesday International Campaign

Today, Sakhalin Energy has joined #GivingTuesday, an international charitable event. This is the third time the special good deeds day has taken place in Russia.

Sakhalin Energy supports the international charitable initiative with its ‘New Year Miracles’ campaign that the Company has launched for the 11th time. Every year its employees turn into good wizards to take part in the New Year projects under the Hurry Up For Good Deeds corporate programme: they prepare presents for physically challenged children, purchase useful things for elderly and lonely people of Sakhalin, organise celebrations in the Home for the Elderly and Disabled.

In 2018 the recipients of the good deeds were, as usual, determined by the employees themselves. Those are physically challenged children and children attending social rehabilitation centres. This year we have received even more letters from children: 161 children from different areas of Sakhalin have told us their heart-warming dreams and wishes. This is the record number of letters since 2003.

Any employee can participate in the campaign: make a donation, buy a New Year gift for a child that (s)he described in the letter to Father Frost or join the volunteer team who will give the presents.
Among the participants are not only Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk employees of Sakhalin Energy but also those who work at its remote assets. In accordance with the terms of Hurry Up For Good Deeds programme, the Company will double the sum raised.

In 2016 Sakhalin Energy became the first company on Sakhalin to join the #GivingTuesday campaign. Its organisers are convinced that the best charity formula is to do good deeds together and do it aloud. Thus, they encourage all the participants to not only do good deeds but to also make sure to tell about them to inspire others.
