Sakhalin Energy wins Ministry of Energy's Corporate Social Responsibility Awards

Sakhalin Energy celebrates several wins in its first-ever Ministry of Energy-sponsored contest for excellence in corporate social responsibility.

The Contest Jury announced Sakhalin Energy the winner in the award categories “Best Public Non-Financial Report in the Oil and Gas Sector”, “Corporate Charitable Activity” and “Business Ethics and Internal Communications”. The Company received a special prize of distinction of the Fuel and Energy Complex and a certificate of excellence in corporate responsibility.

The main goal of the contest was to stimulate corporate socially responsible behaviour in companies, as well as to identify, discuss and promote the corporate social responsibility best practices.

The Contest Jury 2018 included representatives from Ministry of Energy, major electric companies, as well as the Oil and Gas Veterans Council and the Oil and Gas Youth Council of Ministry of Energy.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Vladimir Smirnov, Head of Ministry of Energy Department for Civil Service and Mobilisation Training, stressed the focus the Ministry maintains on stimulation and support of the social responsibility and staff development performance of the oil and gas companies.

The award ceremony was held within the 8th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum. Shortlisted by the contest were nearly forty major oil and gas companies, including NOVATEK, Tatneft, Rosneft, Gazpromneft, Lukoil, etc.
